The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB) has dismissed reports claiming it has rescheduled the ongoing 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In a thread of tweets on Thursday, March 19, via its official Twitter handle, @JAMBHQ, the examination board said it has not rescheduled the examinations. It added that all examinations will end on Saturday, March 21, with the exception of few candidates from two states, Bayelsa and Rivers States.
According to JAMB, few candidates from the two states had earlier been scheduled to sit the examinations next week. The board advised candidates from the two states to reprint their slips to note the venue and time of their adjusted examination schedules.
JAMB had earlier released another batch of results of about 450, 312 candidates that sat for the UTME on Tuesday, March 17. JAMB’s Head of Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this on Wednesday, March 18, in a statement. The Board added that the results will be released as examinations are taken by the candidates.
JAMB dismissed rumours in some quarters that results of its 2020 UTME held on Saturday, March 14 and on Monday, March 16, had been cancelled. JAMB in a tweet via its official Twitter handle on March 18, advised candidates to disregard rumours making the rounds that the results have been cancelled. Benjamin said such rumours were the handiwork of fraudsters and should be disregarded, describing the rumour as wicked, malicious and misleading.
