LAGOS STATE ASSEMBLY PASSES BILL TO CURTAIL SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS

The Lagos State House Of Assembly today passed a bill to curtail the spread of coronavirus named The Emergency Coronavirus Pandemic Bill 2020.

The Bill was sponsored by the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa; the bill will afford the governor a legislative concurrence to spend 20 Billion Naira to help curb the virus and enforce compliance among lagos residents.

The bill also entails a fine of 20000 Naira for defaulters, A Coronavirus Trust Fund and a provision for the state Governor to declare a state of Emergency for up to three months if required.

He added that the bill will help the executive provide adequate facilities to help curb the virus.
