Eberechi Eze’s £20m price tag seems to have left only Tottenham Hotspur in the race for his signature after fellow EPL sides, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace pulled out, according to The Sun.
The 21-year-old has been the protagonist in the R’s resurgence in the second phase of the season as the London side sit 14th in the table.
Eze’s 12 goals and eight assists from 37 appearances had alerted the likes of Spurs, Sheffield, Palace and even Southampton.
Instead of losing him on a free, Queens Park Rangers decided to slap a £20m fee on him.
However, according to The Sun, Sheffield and Palace have opted to withdraw from the race to sign the playmaker as they deem his fee too high.
Spurs must now decide whether they want to press ahead with a deal for Eze, who is likely to attract more admirers once football returns after the coronavirus outbreak.
